About this course
Most people drift through the biggest job decision of their career. This course teaches you to decide on purpose: stay and price the terms, grow across or up with your eyes open, or go with a written call you can defend. It is for professionals weighing a stay, a grow move, or a leave, for managers deciding on a lateral or a new boss, and for anyone about to sign an offer who has not yet called the last person in the seat.
You start before the first decision: said out loud, priced, and chosen. ENRICH under the table shows who else is already in the call, and three chairs put them on a map. Terms for Staying turns a vague hope into the Change, the Sign, the Day, and one review cycle. Across, Not Up separates a new boss, new work, and a new problem so a lateral is never sold as a promotion. Then the questions the interview will not ask: who sat in the seat before, who rose, and who left. Beyond the interview you put the last person, a peer, and someone who left on the call list. The close is the call itself, written down: your answer, your terms, and your checks, before you sign.
Along the way you work with Duane's models and with the ENRICH Framework created by Duane K. Andrews and Sherry M. Jerimie. Every case lets you make the call before you hear how Duane reads it.
Who it is for
- Professionals weighing a stay, a grow move, or a leave who want the decision priced, not drifted.
- Managers deciding whether to take a lateral, a new boss, or a new problem.
- Anyone about to sign an offer who has not yet called the last person in the seat.
- Facilitators running Stay, Grow or Go with a live room.
Learning objectives and outcomes
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- Name the decision. Say stay, grow, or go out loud before you price it.
- Price the terms. Use the Change, the Sign, the Day, and one review cycle.
- Read who else is in it. Put ENRICH under the table and the three chairs on the map.
- Judge a lateral. Separate new boss, new work, and new problem.
- Ask who sat here before. Run Ask It, Read It, Ask the Follow-Up.
- Trace who rose and who left. Read the pattern the job description hides.
- Call beyond the interview. The last one, a peer, someone who left.
- Write the call. Your answer, your terms, your checks, before you sign.
