About this course
A colleague goes quiet. A strong performer starts missing the one meeting that matters. A message meant as praise costs a night shift two engineers. And the explanation everybody reaches for is the person: burned out, not committed, too sensitive, always been like that. That explanation is usually wrong, and even when it is partly right you cannot act on it.
HBWE starts from a different position. Behavior at work cannot be reduced to personality, character or culture fit. The workplace contributes a real share of every behavior you see in it: the org chart, the count, what the act was taken to mean, the calendar, the incentive, the audience. This course teaches you to read that share first, then read the person, and then move the one variable that will actually change what happens next.
You get one equation, one order to read it in, and practice on five cases, each with the money on the table and the words the people in it should say next. Then you run it on one real behavior from your own job. If you are new to DKA Toolkit, start here. If you have taken other DKA courses, this is the equation underneath all of them.
Who it is for
- Every manager, at every level, who has ever had to explain a behavior they did not understand.
- Anyone who has ever been explained by their personality instead of their circumstances.
- People new to DKA Toolkit who want the foundation under every other course.
Learning objectives and outcomes
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- Map the vector first. See which way an act traveled before you react to it.
- Count before you respond. Match the response to the frequency.
- Name frame sent and received. What an act was sent as and what it was received as.
- Move the room. Change the calendar, the incentive, the audience or the unwritten rule instead of arguing with the person.
- Read the person last. Snapshot, not verdict, and check your own lens first.
What is included
The Participant Booklet is the knowledge companion to the course: every framework drawn, every case, the reference you keep after the video ends.
The Workbook is the fillable PDF: prompts, cases and private entries you complete while you watch. Open the player to download both PDFs with your course.
Chapters
15 chapters, 3 h 06 min of video.

- 02The Equation, Read Backward11:17
What the workplace adds, the five variables, and why the person comes last.
- 03The ENRICH Foundation23:21
The six dimensions, the facets inside them, the ENRICH Lens, the Outsider and the Tax, and ENRICH under every letter.
- 04Vector First13:28
Downward, Lateral, Upward; Rank, Room and Shelf Life; and why being junior is not innocence.
- 05The Quick Question9:29
Case: one message, three directions, and a fund that paid for it.
- 06Frequency14:48
One-off, Pattern, Doctrine: how the count changes what the act is, and what the response has to be.
- 07Nineteen of Twenty-Four9:07
Case: nineteen missed meetings, three conversations, and a Friday deadline.
- 08Frame, Sent and Received15:17
What an act is read as being about; Ascribe, Erase, Sort; and the six frames checked first.

- 13Since the Job Went Outside8:33
Case: three readers, one blunt manager, and nine objections nobody counted.
- 14Run the Equation12:33
The Equation Worksheet, the opening read backward, and which DKA course goes deeper on the variable you need.
