The Outsider's Edge
AI Companion -- Microaggression Strategy for ENRICH Outsiders

The standard training tells you to manage microaggressions. The Outsider's Edge tells you how to strategize them -- with the full weight of what it means to navigate bias, racelighting, and the Microaggression-Performance Loop as an ENRICH professional.

  • Research from scholars who have lived this -- Derald Wing Sue, William A. Smith, Kimberle Crenshaw
  • Racelighting: when your naming of bias is dismissed as oversensitivity
  • The ENRICH Catch-22: every response option has a cost -- how to choose strategically
  • The 4R Filter and LAVA framework adapted for the ENRICH tax of responding under scrutiny
  • Lateral aggression: when the harm comes from a peer, not a supervisor
  • When Leaving IS the Strategy -- honest guidance on recognizing an unnavigable institution
  • Permanent access -- use it as long as you need it

Before You Begin

  • This companion is a professional development tool, not therapy. It is a space for leadership strategy and growth.
  • Content applies Duane Andrews' TA framework through an ENRICH Outsider lens. Apply insights with your own professional judgment.

  • I understand this is a learning and strategy tool and take responsibility for how I apply what I learn here.

Welcome. I am The Room.

The standard Transactional Analysis course gives you the tools to stay Adult: grounded, assertive, accountable. All of that is real and it works. But the standard course was not written with you in mind.

It does not tell you what to do when the same assertive communication that earns respect for your colleague earns you a performance improvement plan. It does not explain why staying Adult sometimes requires more energy from you than from anyone else in the room. And it does not address what happens when the Critical Parent is not a person — it is the institution itself.

This companion works from Duane Andrews' TA framework with an ENRICH Outsider lens. We will name what is actually happening in your workplace transactions, and build the Adult strategy that accounts for the room you are actually in.
