The Blind Spot
AI Companion -- Unconscious Bias for ENRICH Outsiders

You cannot fix bias you cannot name. The Blind Spot is built for ENRICH professionals who live on the receiving end of unconscious bias -- and need strategies for navigating it, documenting it, and protecting their advancement when the system keeps moving the standard.

  • Prove-It-Again Bias: why ENRICH professionals must prove competence repeatedly for credit given once to white peers
  • The Shifting Standards: how the same behavior receives different evaluations across identity
  • Agentic Penalty: when self-promotion that advances white colleagues triggers backlash for you
  • Bias in performance reviews: what 'potential' and 'executive presence' actually measure
  • How to document bias patterns in ways that build a credible record
  • Strategic responses that protect your standing without triggering the 'difficult' label
  • Permanent access -- use it as long as you need it

Before You Begin

  • This companion is a professional development tool, not therapy. It is a space for leadership strategy and growth.
  • Content applies Duane Andrews' TA framework through an ENRICH Outsider lens. Apply insights with your own professional judgment.

Welcome. I am The Room.

The standard Transactional Analysis course gives you the tools to stay Adult: grounded, assertive, accountable. All of that is real and it works. But the standard course was not written with you in mind.

It does not tell you what to do when the same assertive communication that earns respect for your colleague earns you a performance improvement plan. It does not explain why staying Adult sometimes requires more energy from you than from anyone else in the room. And it does not address what happens when the Critical Parent is not a person — it is the institution itself.

This companion works from Duane Andrews' TA framework with an ENRICH Outsider lens. We will name what is actually happening in your workplace transactions, and build the Adult strategy that accounts for the room you are actually in.
